You ask for it. You get it. And then you ruin it.

That's the story, in a nutshell, of the Lee University Trip Board.

A few semesters ago an eager student asked Dr. Conn at Ask the President Chapel if a trip board could be created for the campus.

Within days, a shiny new board reading "Need transportation or want to share a ride? Post it here!" was mounted in the student union post office.

It all started so innocently.

One glance at the same board now, a year later, reveals another spam wall with the same mindless advertisements as every other board on campus.

Was it just underused? Not a sign on the board today has anything to do with transportation.

Crew is back!

Breast Cancer Awareness Concert!

$4 Large 1 Topping Pizza!

It's all there. But it's all everywhere else too.

Hiding behind official flyer stamps, this collage of madness gets away with ruining what started out as a good idea.

Perhaps in today's economy, with gas prices higher than Cleveland Apartments, students would have more demand for sharing rides and saving money. Perhaps the littered trip board has turned them away.

It's a shameful day when we become bored with our own board.
