Freshman dating every night?

Writing in chalk on Lee University sidewalks is downright dangerous.

Like blog posts typed with ill intentions, chalk messages will undoubtedly come back to haunt you years, or in some extreme cases, weeks later.

This is an extreme case.

Unless I'm wrong, it seems apparent that Lee University freshmen have been dating in the Dixon Center every night this week. Every time I walk to the dining hall or go to get my mail I'm confronted by these larger than life messages. All I can say is... TMI.

Freshman dating game TONIGHT! TONIGHT! It's TONIGHT! Really? Every night?

If the Class of 2012 really is as feral as the sidewalk chalk makes them out to be, "ring by spring" had better be ready to jump ahead to winter this year.

Maybe this is just a sign that rain should come more frequently and pound sidewalks more forcefully, in order to empty the slate as soon as an event is over.

Even so, don't get me wrong, I'm all for chalking up the cement with announcements. In fact, I'm still looking for the LeeClarion.com chalk message. But can't the Student Life office stamp their ubiquitous "approved" rectangle on the chalk ads? That way we'll really know when the freshman are dating... Or, on the other hand... Never mind.
